Richmond Lawyer Defending Your Right to Drive

In Virginia, receiving too many speeding tickets can lead to a license suspension. Worse, with a high speed, i.e. 90 m.p.h. or faster reckless driving charge, you could end up in jail. In addition, with a high speed reckless driving the court may revoke your driving privileges. Defending your rights is critical and I can help you.

I am Standish Alexander, Esq. and I will vigorously defend your rights in traffic court. I offer effective, outcome-oriented representation at competitive prices. Contact my Richmond law office for a free consultation on how I can defend your right to drive.

Speeding tickets are traffic violations that count towards Virginia's point system. A speeding ticket can be a 3 or 4 point violation depending on how fast you were driving. In Virginia, if you accumulate more than 18 points in a single year, the Department of Motor Vehicles will suspend your license.

Why You Need an Attorney to Defend Speeding Tickets in Traffic Court

If you have received a speeding ticket in Virginia, it is important for you to contact an attorney. This is particularly true if you have received a reckless driving by speed ticket. An experienced and effective traffic attorney may be able to negotiate with the prosecutor and/or convince the Judge to reduce or eliminate a charge. They also may be able to help prevent your license from being suspended in cases where the court has authority to do so. If your right to drive has already been suspended or revoked, I may be able to help you get your driver’s license restored

If you are a driver from out of state, it's important that you are either appear in court, or have representation that can appear for you at the hearing for your traffic violation. A lawyer may be able to help you respond to the speeding ticket and represent you in court without the necessity of a court appearance. If you miss your speeding ticket hearing, you most likely will be found guilty without having a chance to respond to the charges.

I also handle DUI defense cases if you are stopped for speeding and you fail a field sobriety test.
